At Comic Con 2010, Frank O'Connor, better known as "Frankie" to the Halo community, says that Master Chief will be coming back in some form or another. Karen Traviss, best known for her Star Wars and Gears of War novels, has signed on to write a series of  books that will take place after the end of Halo 3, the first of  which being  a follow up to Halo: Ghosts of Onyx (written by Eric Nylund).
